Oil explorer Bill Armstrong recently described Alaska as the “world’s hottest play” in an article published in the Financial Times — one of the world’s most influential publications among global investors, financial leaders and energy markets.

This is incredible for a state that for years has been defined by decline and uncertainty in its energy future. Increasingly, Alaska is no longer viewed as a mature basin in retreat, but as the next great American energy frontier.
